Mandie's Tumor

first, I want to thank you! this is the first time i have been online in several days, and i am completely overwhelmed by all your texts, calls and prayers...

God has been SO gracious to my wife! She is still in ICU, but should be transferred out later today! the neuro surgeon just chuckles at how quickly she has recovered...he, we are all simply amazed at how quickly i have my precious wife back!

the tumor was 2 cm, he removed that and the surrounding tissue...mandie came through surgery great! she is so freaking tough! the initial thoughts on the tumor is that it is one of two types of tumors, neither of which i can pronounce...shut up, neither could you! both types of tumors are benign, though our doctors caution us that we won't know for sure until the full pathology report is back, next week sometime.

As some of you know, Mandie went through this about 10 years ago, and so our doctors are curious as to why it came back, we are hopeful the pathology report will give us some indication as to why, needless to say the doctors want to be rather aggressive in follow up...we will know what that looks like specifically next week sometime. As to recovery, she will be released most likely Tuesday sometime to go home, unless she has trouble walking or with any of her motor skills...though that seems unlikely given how quickly she has already “returned to normal.”

Specifically, we wanted to thank you all for a couple of things:

Our Elders have been amazing! These are good men who have demonstrated why God has put them in the position they are in! Praise God for men who have not shied away from the burden of leadership. They have been used by our Lord to help carry us over the last couple of days! They have worked long hours only to turn around and sit for more hours with me and Mandie...love you and your families!

Your prayers! We have felt them! Christ has been so close and has made Himself so known to us through this. We have experienced in so many ways the peace of Christ, and found such rest in His sovereignty. Especially here, Christ granted us the gift of faith to worship Him in the midst of this test, realizing so many marks of Christ’s orchestration.

FB/Twitter/Email/Texts--Gang, I have no words to accurately describe the sense of being completely overwhelmed with love and support. I read most of the FB updates this morning, and simply sat and wept. I am so humbled that so many would be so concerned. Your texts, emails, calls have been light in a really dark time.

we love you all! I will keep you posted as I have time...
