Pointe Group Frequently Asked Questions
Feel free to visit as many groups as you would like. Contact a group leader on the "Find a Pointe Group" page to confirm group meeting schedule or email our Groups Pastor Sam Pedigo.
-
Do I have to wait for a new group to start?
Absolutely not. Our groups are "open" groups, meaning you can visit or join one at any time.
-
What types of groups do you offer?
Our groups are not based on a particular Bible study or topic and we try hard not to start groups that represent just one demographic or life stage. This means there no "singles" groups, "young married" groups, "college" groups, etc. We feel strongly that each generation or stage of life has wisdom and experience to offer others so we strive to develop groups that represent CrossPointe as a whole. For example, why separate our young married couples from the wisdom of our more experienced empty nesters?

What should I expect when I visit a Pointe Group?
First, just come as you are. If you have questions, bring them. If you just want to check things out quietly, that is ok with us. Each group will either do a full meal or have snacks and desserts available. There will be a time of Bible study and plenty of time to just hang out and get to know the individuals and families that are part of the group. Our groups often meet in the community for an event or dinner so check with the group leader to know what the upcoming schedule will be.
-
Will I have to read or pray out loud?
Not if your uncomfortable with that.
-
How often do groups meet?
Each group has a unique schedule but most groups will meet on average three times each month.
-
How do your groups handle childcare?
We feel it is important that our children participate in group life in some way. This way they grow up experiencing what authentic Christian community can and should look like. That being said, childcare is an issue we leave up to the individual groups to decide how to handle based upon space available and the age of kids present. Please contact individual group leaders to learn more about specific groups' childcare plans.

What if I don't have time for both Sunday worship and a Pointe Group?
You may be thinking, "Who would ask that question?" Hopefully no one. But we often use it as a way of illustrating just how important Pointe Groups are for us at CrossPointe. If someone were to tell us, "I only have time for one church event per week. Where do you want me to go?" Well, we would strongly encourage them to go to a Pointe Group! It's not that we don't value Sunday worship, quite the opposite. But we believe the greatest life change will take place for you through the smaller, more connected community of a Pointe Group.
